A WeatherHawk personal weather station gives you the microclimate information you need for study, decision making, home irrigation system management or environmental control. The WeatherHawk wireless personal weather station combines high reliability weather sensors, powerful spread spectrum radios, and display software options to create a family of easy-to-use weather stations.
WeatherHawk is a fully integrated outdoor sensor compliment to an automated home. Leading manufacturers of automated home control systems such as AMX, Crestron, Control4, CorAccess, Elan' Motorola, and RTI have partnered with WeatherHawk to seamlessly integrate weather data into their whole house control systems. You can even apply scientific ET (evapotranspiration) water management methods to save significant amounts of landscape irrigation water through a unique partnership between WeatherHawk and AccuWater, a leading consumer ET control service provider.
Communications
WeatherHawk offers you personal weather stations in two primary configurations to suit your needs directly connected to your computer , or wireless. A directly connected WeatherHawk weather station communicates using the RS-232 protocol. For cable lengths over 100 feet (34 meters), and up to 5000 feet (1534 meters) an RS-485 communications interface kit is available. A Wireless WeatherHawk personal weather station can support one of three different radio frequencies: 916 MHz, 922 MHz, or 2.4 GHz.

Computer Systems
For any Weather Hawk system that uses display software (Virtual Weather Station, or WeatherHawk-XP/X), you'll need a host computer with these specifications:
PC with Windows 95/98/200/NT/ME or XP Operating System, or any Mac running OS X 10.2.8 or later.
An available USB or Serial Port (NOTE: USB-to-Serial converter is user supplied or an optional item if a serial port is unavailable)
The WeatherHawk-IP module does not require a host computer as it functions as a weather data server directly to an ethernet.
