is a general purpose temperature sensor that can be used to accurately measure the temperature of a variety of media, most commonly air, water, and soil. The 107 temperature sensor consists of a thermistor encapsulated in a cylindrical aluminum housing. The probe measures temperature from -35° to +50°C and is designed for durability and ease of installation/removal.
Features
Sensor measures air, soil, or water temperature
Incorporates a thermistor as the active element
Recommended for -35° to +50°C temperature range
Naturally aspirated radiation shield recommended when temperature sensor is exposed to sunlight
Specifications
Polynomial linearization accuracy:
<±0.5°C (-35° to +50°C)
<±0.1°C (-24° to +48°C)
Interchangeability error:
<±0.2°C (0° to +50°C) increasing to ±0.4°C at -40°C
The
108
is a general purpose temperature sensor that can be used to accurately measure the temperature of a variety of media, most commonly air, water, and soil. The 108 consists of a thermistor encapsulated in a cylindrical aluminum housing. The probe measures temperature from -5° to +95°C and is designed for durability and ease of installation/removal.
Features
Sensor measures air, soil, or water temperature
Incorporates a thermistor as the active element
Recommended for -5° to +95°C temperature range
Naturally aspirated radiation shield recommended when sensor is exposed to sunlight
Specifications
Temperature measurement range: -5° to +95°C
Polynomial linearization accuracy: Typically <±0.5°C at the -5° to +90°C range
Interchangeability error: Typically <±0.2°C over 0° to 70°C range increasing to ±0.3°C at 95°C
The
109
Temperature Probe is a thermistor used with our CR200-series dataloggers. The CR200-series dataloggers have a special instruction for measuring the 109 probe. The 109 is designed to measure the temperature of air, water, or soil. For air temperature measurements, the 41303-5A solar radiation shield is typically used to house the probe, while limiting solar loading on the sensor.
The temperature probe can also be buried or submerged to 50 feet. The probe is not weighted for submergence (ie, it will float), so the installer should plan to add a weighting system or secure the probe to a fixed, submerged object, such as a piling.
The 109 has a measurement temperature range of -50° to +70°C and outputs a full scale range of 0 to 2.2 Volts. Recommended lead lengths are 25, 50, 75, and 100 feet, although the 109 may be ordered with lead lengths up to 1000 ft.
Although similar in appearance, the 109 is not interchangeable with our 107 or 108 temperature probes (i.e., the 107/108 cannot be used with the CR200-series dataloggers). To allow the 109 to be easily distinguished from the 107 and 108, the 109 has a bright yellow label just above the sensor's pigtails (the label is white in the 107 and 108).
