Campbell Scientific's CS450 Submersible Pressure Transducer provides reliable, accurate pressure/level measurements that are fully temperature compensated. It consists of a piesoresistive sensor housed in a 316L stainless-steel case. The CS450's rugged construction allows this transducer to be submerged in many water wells, lakes, and streams.
The CS450 outputs either an SDI-12 or RS-232 signal to indicate observed pressure level. Output is acceptable for recording devices with SDI-12 or RS-232 capability including Campbell Scientific dataloggers.
The CS450 includes a rugged Hytrel cable that remains flexible, even under harsh environmental conditions. The cable incorporates a vent tube to compensate for atmospheric pressure fluctuations. To prevent water vapor from entering the inner cavity of the transducer, the vent tube opening should terminate inside a desiccated enclosure or a desiccant tube.
The static accuracy is ±0.1% FS over a 0° to 60°C temperature range.
A high accuracy ±0.05% variant is also now available as an option.
The CS455 has a titanium body, while the CS450 is made from stainless steel.
