SC32B Optically Isolated RS-232 to CSI/O Interface

Required for direct communication between a CR510, CR500, CR10, CR10X, 21X, or CR7 datalogger and the serial port of a computer.

The SC32B isolates the computer's electrical system from the datalogger, thereby protecting against ground loop, normal static discharge, and noise. It also converts the computer's RS-232 voltage levels to the CMOS levels of the datalogger.

Features

  • Connects your PC's RS232 port to the CS I/O port on the datalogger
  • Converts the logic levels of your PC to those understood by the datalogger
  • Isolates computer electrical system from datalogger
  • Used with the CR800, CR850, and CR1000 when optical isolation is required
  • Protects datalogger against ground loops, "normal" static discharge, noise
  • Powered by the computer and datalogger
  • Includes 9-pin ports on both ends
  • Shipped with SC12 cable and 10873 cable

If your PC does not have an RS232 port, you will also require a USB-RS232 Converter.

The CR23X, CR800, CR850, CR1000, CR3000, CR5000, and CR9000X have an on-board RS-232 port and therefore do not require an SC32B.
